​What you should know (food! fun! friends!)

​About the event:

• ​June's monthly theme is STORYTELLING and how it intersects with the climate crisis. The fourth Tuesday of the month is our REFLECT night

• ​We're having a Moth-style storytelling event. One main difference is it's a dinner party vibe, not just storytelling from a stage. We'll be telling stories of portals to the future: moments from your own life (or fictional ones!) that bridged our present with the possibility for the world we want to live in.

  • ​These stories might be featured in our gala!

• ​Please do your best to arrive by 6:30!

  • ​At 6:30, we'll start opening announcements. Until 8:30 PM, we'll have community stories interspersed with conversation prompts for us all to weigh in. From 8:30-9, we'll have a debrief on where we can take our stories from here.

​More broadly:

• ​Soapbox Seattle is the city's most joyful community space for climate action. We gather EVERY TUESDAY same time same place (climate church?? lol)

• ​It's all ages

• ​Plant-based dinner is always included so you don't have to think about what to eat. We have our own lovely chef so the food is cooked with love from local and regenerative farmers

• ​No you do not have to be "a climate person" to come; you just need to be excited to meet people who share your values of caring about the earth/each other/wanting to breathe air etc. and no experience is required!

• ​There will be activities and programming! This is not one of those networking events where you pretend to be on your phone because you don't know what to do.

• ​All our events are sliding scale and if the litsed options don't work for you, you can request a reparative ticket here if you need one. It costs us ~$35 per person to put on so please contribute what you can
