Conversations With My AI: How to Work With a Digital Thought Partner

Most of us use AI like a vending machine. Type in a request, get back something generic, and walk away a little unimpressed. But the people getting real value from it are doing something different. They aren’t writing better prompts. They’re having better conversations.

This gathering explores what changes when you stop commanding a tool and start thinking out loud with a partner. We’ll hold a few paradoxes together: you have to think differently about AI, and you also have to talk to it the way you’d talk to a thoughtful person. It isn’t a person. Treating it a bit like one is still how you get the most from it.

You’ll learn a simple conversation starter, try it on something that actually matters in your life, and leave with one question that changes every conversation after it:

“What is it I am not asking you that I should?”

Why now? Because AI is moving into everything we do, faster than we can reflect on it. It can make us sharper, or it can quietly take over our judgment. The difference is how we show up to the conversation. Context is king, and you are the only one who can give it yours.

👥 Facilitator

Name: Chris Heuer

Bio: Chris has been in conversation with technology since he coined “context is king” at his first startup in 1995, and he was an IBM futurist working with Watson long before AI was a dinner-table topic. He’s writing a book, Conversations With My AI, about using AI to think more clearly, not less, and he talks with his own AI, Q, every day.

💫 Who This Is For

This space is for anyone curious about AI, from people who’ve barely tried it to daily users who feel they’re getting generic answers back. No technical background needed. It’s especially for people who want AI to help them think, reflect and create without giving up what makes their perspective their own.

🎒 What to Bring

A laptop or phone with any AI you can use (the free versions of ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini all work but paid accounts are better). One real thing you’re working on, wondering about or stuck on. A notebook if you like to write things down.
