Plastic Upcycling Creative Jam
Plastic Upcycling Creative Jam is a small outdoor community event hosted by Reimagining Plastic in collaboration with Pollution Probe for Toronto Climate Week.
This hands-on workshop will bring together 20-30 participants to learn about plastic pollution, circular economy solutions, and creative reuse. Participants will use clean plastic materials, including plastics (mostly: plastic bottles and plastic lids)sourced through the Great Lakes Plastic Cleanup alongside other plastics, to create simple upcycled art pieces in a relaxed park setting.
The event is designed for youth, students, young professionals, sustainability community members, and anyone interested in accessible climate action. Participants will leave with a better understanding of plastic pollution and practical ways to think about waste differently, while also connecting with others in Toronto’s climate and sustainability space. Feel free to bring your own clean plastic bottle, and let's upcycle it together.
About the Host: Reimagining Plastic is a youth-led initiative launched in 2025 that is focused on raising awareness about plastic pollution and promoting creative, community-based approaches to reuse, upcycling, and circular solutions. Through workshops and educational activities, we aim to make sustainability more accessible, practical, and engaging for everyday communities.
Pollution Probe is a Canadian environmental organization working to advance practical solutions to environmental challenges through research, education, partnerships, and community engagement. For this event, Pollution Probe will support the connection to plastic pollution education and the Great Lakes Plastic Cleanup.
