Paint your climate anxiety and solutions
Back by popular demand after our sold out TCW event last year!
Come join us for a fun and creative FREE virtual art workshop cohosted by fine artist Melina Cossio and environmental and climate science educator Yarim Hinojosa.
This will be a relaxed and casual workshop where you can express your climate anxiety and brainstorm solutions freely using mixed media and meet new friendly people!
Agenda:
In this workshop, we will have a short presentation and then everyone will be encouraged to create an art piece during the session that reflects concerns and/or hopes for the climate/ environment, and share it with the group. We will pick 2 winners and award prizes at the end of the session.
No prior art experience needed - just bring your passion for the earth and have your own materials handy during the session, any medium counts ( Ex. watercolor, pencil, charcoal, digital art, collage, or anything you can imagine!)
! Let's come together to paint, connect, and inspire change. See you there!
Requirements: Must register on LUMA to receive meeting link for the event and have your art materials handy during the session
About the cohost , Fine artist Melina Cossio:
I am a visual artist drawn to fleeting moments shaped by fog, rain, and sunlight. Living within urban landscapes, I explore the dynamic relationship between the built environment and the natural world, seeking the quiet tension and harmony that exists between them.
