The Earth Listens Back

​Through collective listening and reflection, this hands-on workshop led by sanjeet takhar at the Allan Gardens Teaching Garden explores sound as a living expression of interconnection. Inspired by the philosophy of Indra’s Net, participants will engage in an exploration of how we shape and are shaped by the world around us. It’s a reminder that the universe, and in that art, operates as a limitless reflection of itself.

​This workshop is designed for people of all artistic and (non)disciplinary backgrounds and all levels of experience. No musical knowledge is required.

Participants are encouraged to bring any notebooks, sketchpads, and instruments that they want to play with and listen to.

​About sanjeet takhar:

​sanjeet takhar is a curator, artist and producer based in Toronto.

​As an active member in the underground music scene; sanjeet performs live and dj sets, is a part of the ambient/braindance project sky god alongside artist Emissive, a member of the DJ trio Punjabi Ambient Squad and punk band called Honeycreeper.

​As a curator, consultant, and creative event planner, sanjeet has spent the past decade on the ground supporting and building events in Toronto’s underground music scene. They served as Artist Director of The Music Gallery, and have programmed diverse lineups across North America.

​As a dedicated advocate for marginalized voices within electronic music, sanjeet has been a featured speaker at festivals including MUTEK, Global Toronto, and Venus Fest, and their dedication to music has garnered recognition from prominent publications like the Toronto Star, DJ Mag, The West End Phoenix, Now Magazine, and Toronto Life.
