Guest Lecture: An Anatomy of Well Wishes
Join us for a guest lecture by Chong Lii on An Anatomy of Well Wishes.
In this lecture, Chong Lii shares their practice of combining narrative filmmaking with installations that have recently been doubling up as live film sets. With a focus on docufiction, metatheatre and social technologies, the session explores Chong's ongoing fascination with (mis)understanding textures of dissociated psyches and landscapes.
Registration begins at 7:00pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
About the artist
Chong Lii is a filmmaker and visual artist who explores the possibility of merging or levelling disparate spaces, objects, people, and images. Employing strategies of entanglement and the abject, Chong’s practice simultaneously critiques and revels within the realm of the moving image.
About the programme
Misbehaving Machines invites the public into a shared study of how machines behave — through movement, sound, and code — unfolding across lectures, listening sessions, and workshops that explore how systems operate, interact, and respond. Rooted in curiosity, experimentation and collective learning, the series examines the evolving human-machine relationship through art and technology.
This programme is presented by Hothouse and supported by the National Arts Council's Arts x Tech Lab initiative.
