About Event

Join us for an evening of creativity, skill sharing, and connection as we learn how to carve custom stamps, create original prints, and transform secondhand frames into finished pieces of artwork.

Emma from Boring House Studio will guide us through the basics of stamp making using rubber carving blocks, sharing best practices for carving simple and effective designs. You will use your handmade stamp to create prints, and you are encouraged to share stamps with others to contribute to a collaborative, community made artwork.

Vern from Gifting Grove will lead us through the art of upcycling thrifted frames. From nailed or stapled backs to standard store bought constructions, you will learn practical tips and tricks for taking apart and reassembling frames of all kinds, turning overlooked secondhand finds into beautiful homes for your artwork.

All materials will be provided to ensure a successful experience! You will leave with your own handmade stamp and access to carving tools, ink, and printing materials. Tools and guidance will also be available to disassemble and reassemble a frame.

You are welcome to bring your own thrifted frame, or you can purchase a ticket option that includes a secondhand frame. If selecting the frame included ticket, please purchase in advance so we can source enough options for everyone! Vern will curate a selection of frames for you to choose from.

🌿 This workshop is part of Gifting Grove’s Gift Workshop Series, which centers skill sharing as an act of gifting. By naming what we offer as a gift, we cultivate gratitude for what is created and shared. In turn, we feel more called to care for what we receive and to reciprocate meaningfully. These workshops offer a deeper exploration of specific gifts and how they move through community.

About Gifting Grove
