Youth Pre-distribution Pact: Designing Fairness at the Source | ChangeNow x YSI
Why do inequalities persist, and why is redistribution never enough?
The Youth Pre-distribution Pact (YPDP) sets out to answer these questions through a hands-on, youth-led workshop created by young leaders from ChangeNOW’s Youth Parliament and economists from the Young Scholars Initiative (YSI).
Participants will explore youth-driven policy recommendations, debate systemic solutions for equity and climate justice, and co-design concrete actions to build fairness at the very source of our economies.
📣 SPEAKERS:
João Pedro Braga (Coordinator of the Young Scholars Initiative and PhD candidate at the University College London)
Criseyda Roman Cordova (Youth Advisory Committee, Science Panel for the Amazon)
Nohora Alejandra Quiguantar (Founder, Tejiendo Pensamientos)
Maëlle Bousquié (Heterodox economist working as an editorialist for ChangeNOW )
Claire Debucquois (Claire is a researcher working on climate policies and green finance regulation, with a focus on the Brazilian Amazon.)
The Youth Pre-distribution Pact (YPDP) was born out of ChangeNOW’s Youth Parliament, where over 150 young leaders from YSI, The Club of Rome, and other youth-led initiatives co-created policy proposals for a fairer economy. Entirely designed and led by youth, this workshop will present recommendations based on a pre-distribution approach and invite participants to debate and co-create solutions addressing the roots of inequality and climate injustice.
Through interactive discussions and hands-on activities, attendees will discover how youth-led research and collaboration can shape concrete pathways for systemic change and influence real-world policy.
