Make a Handmade Website
Have you ever wondered how to make your own website? Like, actually make it, without using a website editor like Squarespace, Wix, Cargo, etc.?
Ever wanted to code but felt intimidated?
Ever wanted to start a blog? Or maybe you just want a place to track all the recipes you’ve been cooking at home, or books you’ve been reading.
This workshop is for you! Open to all, no code experience required.
Hosted by graphic + web designer Mari Al-Midhadi (IG @dreamy.zone).
You will learn:
- Basic HTML + CSS
- Components of a basic web page
You will walk away with:
- Your own handmade website, live on the web~!!
- Resources to learn more code on your own
All you need is a computer with a keyboard, and an internet connection (we will provide).
The web is yours. Let’s make it a more fun, personal, creative place one website at a time!
We will be using Neocities, a free platform to host your own handmade website.
Please set up a Neocities account before the workshop at https://neocities.org/, and chrome will be our preferred web browser to use.
WE'VE MOVED!
Our new studio is just around the corner at 21-07 41st Avenue. When you get to the building, please scan the QR code on the door and find The Collaboratory in the directory to be buzzed in.
Once inside, you can take the elevator to Floor 2 and find us in Studio #213.
MASK REMINDER
The Collaboratory is a *Masks Required* space. 😷 We also run two air filters/purifiers during our gatherings. If you don't arrive with a mask, don't worry—we'll have them available at the door.

REFUND POLICY
At this time the QNSC is unable to issue refunds except on a case by case basis. If you are unable to attend an event for which you have purchased a ticket, tickets can be transferred to another person at the buyer's arrangement.
