​Shifting power through narratives

​The way we tell stories shapes the way we build the future. Narratives influence who holds power, how resources are shared, and what possibilities we dare to imagine. As technology reshapes society, the narratives we choose today will determine whether solutions serve a few or empowers everyone. 

​Join us alongside Jutro Lab for a DesignShifts session where we’ll examine how different stories about AI’s purpose lead to fundamentally different technological outcomes and social impacts.  

​Will AI consolidate power or distributed wealth? Will AI amplify existing inequalities or help us build a more just world? Will it fragment communities or strengthen social bonds? The answers lie not in the technology itself, but in the narratives we choose to embrace as we shape AI's development and deployment. 

​We’ll investigate who gets to write the narratives, who holds the power, and how we can craft different stories that help shift power from the few to the many — and build a future of justice, care, and collective wellbeing.

​Good to know:

​This is an interactive session. We’ll work in breakout groups and co-create using digital tools. It’s a space for exploring the topic together.

​This is not a session about solving. It’s a session about noticing and co-creating a better future together.
