Vancouver AI Community Meetup: 10/29
The Vancouver AI Community Meetups welcome all those interested in the future of AI.... reearchers, artists, geeks, enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, experts, students and more!
Hackathon winners. AI film takeover. Real work. Real people.
We’re back in the planetarium to do what this community does best: show the work, ask sharper questions, and celebrate the weirdos pushing the edges.
A hands‑on night where BC’s AI builders, artists, policy folks, and curious neighbours swap demos, debate ethics, and weave new collaborations
When: Wed, Oct 29, 6:00–10:00 PM (doors 6:00, program 7:00)
Where: H.R. MacMillan Space Centre 1100 Chestnut St, Vancouver
Hosted by: Kris Krüg · Vancouver AI × BC + AI Ecosystem
Capacity: 227 humans (we always sell out)
Tickets: $60 - BC + Members get 25% off.
We're living through a moment that will be written about in history books. The questions we're wrestling with now about consciousness, creativity, ethics and identity will shape generations to come.
AI Film Takeover
Kevin “Prompt Goblin” Friel runs a tight cinema set with Luke Minaker of Tiny Ghost Studios and Tim Riopelle from ComfyUI. We’ll screen sharp shorts from here and abroad, then cut to a fast voices reel from Michael Tippett, Ryan, Elvis, and Bay. After that we get hands-on with live Nano-Banana and Veo 3.1. This is where story, pipeline, and model work meet the screen.
Hackathon Round 4: Winner reveal
Thirty minutes of demos from community projects submitted in Round 4. One of them is a straight-up masterpiece. We’ll crown the winner and hand over the $2,500 prize.

ABOUT VANCOUVER AI
Vancouver AI is a neural network of curious humans mapping the terrain between technology and consciousness.
Since 2023, we've been building a different kind of tech community: one that questions as much as it creates, that bridges art galleries and research labs, corporate towers and garage workshops.
We run monthly gatherings where you'll find the unexpected: AI researchers jamming with musicians, developers debating ethics with philosophers, and entrepreneurs finding inspiration in indigenous wisdom. Together we're co-creating understanding.
