Step into Key’s Jazz Bistro in the heart of North Beach to connect with educators, scientists, and community members who share a passion for climate & STEM education, and learn about the incredible work bringing hands-on climate science into Bay Area classrooms.
Then, settle in for a world-class jazz show starting at 7pm—included with your ticket—and leave inspired about how we can expand science in our schools.
Together, let’s support climate science education for the future, while enjoying jazz for the soul.
Timeline:
5:00 PM: Casual Happy Hour, Climate Science education Discussion, & Mingling. Enjoy Key’s excellent menu of craft cocktails and small bites, available for purchase throughout the evening
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Live Jazz Performance by Peter Horvath in Key's listening room
8:00 PM: Wrap up, leaving you plenty of time to head over to the SF Climate Week closing party.
Talent: We are thrilled to present a live performance with the Peter Horvath Trio. A world-class contemporary jazz pianist and Berklee College of Music alum, Peter Horvath has toured and recorded with absolute legends, including Aretha Franklin, Bobby Hutcherson, and Joe Henderson. Expect an unforgettable set blending straight-ahead jazz with hard-hitting, funk-infused originals.
Venue: Key’s Jazz Bistro in North Beach. Located in the historic former home of the legendary 1950s El Matador nightclub, Key’s provides an intimate, immersive listening room experience supporting local musicians in SF. Owned by Dr. Simon Rowe, the former Executive Director of The Brubeck Institute and Founding Executive Director of the Roots, Jazz and American Music program at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Community Resources for Science is a local, grassroots non-profit that empowers teachers and STEM professionals to activate students curiosity about the world, foster critical thinking and inspire science at local schools in historically marginalized communities. Their work impacted >55,000 students in the Bay Area in 2025.
