Flow | Live Performance: Stories of Water, Climate & Health Through Music
Water is life. It connects us all to everything - ecosystems, economies, and communities. Yet climate change is rapidly destabilizing water systems, causing floods, droughts, contamination, and disease. These changes threaten human health and the foundations of sustainable development with women bearing the brunt.
Join us for an intimate performance from international female artists. Enjoy a powerful musical flow of rap, hip-hop and spoken word inspired by Amazonian water sounds, giving voice to the diverse stories of water and calling for unified action to protect this most precious resource.
Through the flow of rap, drops of hip-hop, and waves of spoken word, international female artists will create an international collaboration, that will be recorded and reseated as an album, culminating in a high-profile performance, presented to key media, policymakers, and stakeholders.
Flow is a collaborative project led by In Place of War and supported by the Observatory, Festival Bananada (Brazil), Se Rasgum Festival (Belém), Something Something, Laboratório de História Natural dos Anfíbios Brasileiros, and Stúdio Mécanique, funded by Wellcome and The Linbury Trust.
