About Event

With Ai and Data Centers poised to grow multifold, with higher capacities the energy consumption and the carbon footprint of the tech industry will be larger than ever.

However, transitioning to clean energy and scaling carbon removal technologies can mitigate the carbon challenge and support the tech sector decarbonize, while counterbalancing the hard to abate emissions to reach net zero goals.

Data Centres where “Power and Cooling meet Digital”

The rapid expansion of data centres globally to support AI computing is creating an urgent need for robust carbon removal strategies. IEA estimates that the global electricity demand from Data Centres will more than double by 2030, surpassing the total electricity consumption of Japan.

India

Data centre sector is on the cusp of exponential growth, driven by rising Ai, digital demand, cloud adoption. The sector is projected to grow fourteen times by 2030.

With this extreme rise in the carbon intensity of the tech sector, it is imperative for the Tech industry to take rapid strides and scale carbon removal projects in alignment with their Net Zero Goals.

Without aggressive carbon removal deployment alongside renewable energy adoption, the AI revolution could significantly undermine global climate targets. Hence technologies like DAC (direct air capture), ERW (enhanced rock weathering) and biochar sequestration—are critical.

This session is focused on exploring perspectives of the Industry, discovering methodologies, unboxing solutions for C02 removal, the funding required for adopting, adapting, scaling up CDR tech.

Join in for an interactive session with Tech companies, clean tech founders, Investors, think tanks for collaborating and charting out the way forward for making CDR an integral part of corporate strategy.

The session will be hosted by Habitat India, New Delhi along with - remove – the Global Carbon removal accelerator.

remove runs a global carbon removal (CDR) accelerator program, which has already supported over 160 start-ups in Europe, India, Sub-Saharan Africa, spanning CDR pathways from the likes of enhanced weathering, biochar carbon removal, soil carbon sequestration, direct air capture and storage, reforestation and more. remove’s accelerator program works to establish and build carbon removal ecosystems and networks with the aim of catalysing the growth of start-ups.

Habitat India, based in New Delhi is an impact organisation focused on scaling technologies for Net Zero Buildings, supporting Asset Decarbonisation. As an enablement platform, along with climate communications it also supports innovators and startups in Climate Technologies

The session will be moderated by Ruchira Shukla, who is the cofounder and Managing Partner of a VC Fund, focused on Climate Tech and Health Tech, in conversation with Hans Westerhof, Co-founder & Managing Director - remove carbon, along with leaders in the tech industry and founders in the carbon capture domain.
