A hundred years ago, Gaudí built by looking at nature. A hundred years on, the city's media facades have forgotten that. They sell, they glare, they ignore the people walking past.
This is a one-day hackathon to change that. You'll design a media facade for a real place in Seoul, a hospital, a station, a school, a public space that has gone quiet, and make it give something back to the people there and to nature.
It's also about you. AI can generate almost anything now. The designers who will matter are the ones who can originate, who start from a real problem, a real place and a real idea, not just prompt for a pretty result. That is what you will practice here.
We form the teams, so you don't have to arrive with one. Bring your curiosity.
Hosted by Chung-Ang University's Graduate School of Virtual Convergence and co-organized by SERA Inc., the Gaudí Foundation and Originate Institute, marking 100 years of Antoni Gaudí (1926–2026).
100년 전, 가우디는 자연을 바라보며 건축했습니다. 100년이 지난 지금, 도시의 미디어 파사드는 그 사실을 잊었습니다. 무언가를 팔고, 눈부시게 번쩍이고, 그 앞을 지나는 사람들을 외면합니다.
이 원데이 해커톤은 그것을 바꾸기 위한 자리입니다. 여러분은 서울의 실제 장소, 병원, 역, 학교, 활기를 잃은 공공장소를 위한 미디어 파사드를 디자인하고, 그곳의 사람들과 자연에 무언가를 되돌려주도록 만들게 됩니다.
이것은 여러분 자신에 관한 일이기도 합니다. 이제 AI는 거의 무엇이든 만들어낼 수 있습니다. 앞으로 의미 있는 디자이너는 보기 좋은 결과물을 위해 프롬프트를 입력하는 사람이 아니라, 실제 문제, 실제 장소, 실제 아이디어에서 출발해 originate(원점에서 새로 만들어내는)할 수 있는 사람입니다. 여기서 연습하게 될 것이 바로 그것입니다.
팀은 저희가 구성해 드리므로, 팀을 미리 만들어 올 필요는 없습니다. 호기심만 가지고 오세요.

Who can join
Undergraduate/graduate students from Graduate School of Virtual Convergence, Chung-Ang University
50 places, 10 teams of 5, teams formed for you so nobody joins alone
Run in English with bilingual support; a good level of English is needed

Hackathon: July 30, 08:30–18:00, Chung-Ang University
Exhibition of selected work: COEX, August

영어로 진행되며 이중 언어 지원이 있습니다. 참가를 위해서는 상당 수준의 영어가 필요합니다

해커톤: 7월 30일, 08:30–18:00, 중앙대학교
