About Event

The AI revolution in programming started with Github-copilot-style autocomplete and bits of code copy-pasted from ChatGPT. Cursor then built on top of this model with good UX and a chat interface in your IDE (Chat).

Then, Claude Code was released in Jan 2025. Suddenly, IDEs were on the way out, TUIs were in. Claude Code (and it’s Codex / Gemini flavored brethren) gained stride mid-year and broke the Twitter→LinkedIn barrier in the final months of 2025. A lot of discussions in the halls of AI Conf 2026 in Jan centered around these agentic harnesses and how we were using them. (Code)

Then, as of a few weeks ago, our agents have grown up, and you can now give them computers to use! “Claw”s (which Andrej Karpathy popularized as the generic term for OpenClaw-like agent systems) are all the rage. Speaking without hype, they’re just a layer on top of LLM agents that add orchestration, scheduling, persistence and interaction generally via messaging apps. Speaking with the hype though, they are the “drop-in remote AI workers” as predicted in Leopold Aschenbrenner’s Situational Awareness

Clawdbot … Moltbolt … OpenClaw was a riveting saga, starting from a WhatsApp wrapper for Claude Code and ending in a very large acquihire by OpenAI. Depending on who you ask, Claws are either the next evolution of computers or a security nightmare that is more likely to leak all your data than it is to do anything productive. A few claws now even have massive followings on social media - Felix Craft, Kelly Claude are some that come to mind.

(And since I started writing this post) Companies have started building Claw-like functionality into their product lines - Anthropic has Claude Cowork Dispatch and Channels for Claude Code, Perplexity has Perplexity Computer, and much much more (this industry never sleeps)

Join us this Thursday to talk about everything re this new advancement in the field of AI, and to discuss what we really think about it.

About Tech Kura Kani (TKK)

Tech Kura Kani (TKK) is a small, community-driven tech meetup in Kathmandu.

It brings together engineers, builders, and curious minds to share ideas, experiences, and learnings in an informal setting.
