AI Native Dev - London Meetup
Spec-Driven Development Panel
Ever been caught in a vibe-coding loop? Agents running in circles, producing more chaos than value?
Consider Spec-Driven Development (SDD). It brings robustness to the AI-native development process. Capture your Intent in the spec and let the agents figure out how to get there. And while they’re at it, have them add tests as guardrails.
However, SDD still has many open questions: what does a spec contain? What is its format? How long does it live? Etc. It also raises a fear it’ll slow you down - agentic dev thrives on velocity. How do we reconcile the promise with the unknowns?
This panel is a chance to hear from people who’ve been pushing the boundaries of Spec-Driven Development, and to swap stories about where it works, where it hurts, and how to make it stick in a real-world dev environment.

Guy Podjarny is the founder of Tessl, and previously founded Snyk. Tessl is reimagining software development for the AI era, helping shape AI Native Development. Snyk created and leads the Developer Security category, and is now a multi-billion dollar company with over 1,000 employees. Guy was previously CTO at Akamai (following its acquisition of his first startup), is an active angel investor, and co-hosts of the AI Native Dev podcast.
Alan Pope is Director of Developer Relations at Anchore, where he helps developers build more secure software supply chains. A tech industry veteran who transformed from an enterprise SAP consultant to an open source advocate and community builder, Alan brings decades of experience navigating the evolution from traditional development to AI-native approaches. When not presenting talks about technology, he can be found recording the Linux Matters podcast or caring for vintage tech that refuses to die – including a Dualit toaster and lava lamp duo warming his home since 1997. Cat enthusiast and firm believer that understanding the past is crucial for building a better technological future.
