About Event

An invitation-only opening and unveiling of Monkey Rock: A Species Corner for Nature, an art-science installation presented during WEF 2026.

Monkey Rock: A Species Corner for Nature at Climate Hub Davos is a temporary public art installation presented during World Economic Forum week in Davos. This limited opening marks the unveiling of the installation with a small, invited group of guests.

The gathering is intentionally intimate, bringing together key participants from across business, culture, science, and civil society to acknowledge the opening of the artwork and the ideas it represents. The moment will include remarks from André Hoffmann (Interim Co-Chair, WEF) and Rosalie Hoffmann (Co-chair, InTent), alongside other invited contributors who share a commitment to ensuring nature is meaningfully present in conversations shaping the future.

This opening is designed as a focused moment of attention, creating space to pause, reflect, and recognise the value and presence of nature and biodiversity within a week typically defined by high-level economic and political exchange.

The installation was conceived by Joep van Lieshout and Prof. Gail Whiteman.

Climate Basecamp, Atelier Van Lieshout and Cats Do Climate are thankful to Minderoo Foundation, GreenUp, Climate Hub Davos, Arctic Basecamp, and the Nature and Climate Impact Team at the University of Exeter for their support, contributions and tireless work to bring the Monkey to Davos. Thank you.
