Beyond Sustainability: Energy Transition in the Age of AI
📍 1 Triton Square, London NW1 3BF
Artificial intelligence is transforming industries and rapidly reshaping global energy demand. Training and deploying AI systems requires vast amounts of continuous, stable power, placing new pressures on infrastructure, generation, and grid management. Whilst more energy-efficient technologies are emerging, many expect the “Jevons Paradox” to apply: as efficiency improves, adoption accelerates — driving overall energy consumption even higher. Climate technologies are no longer just part of the sustainability conversation — they are becoming critical commercial infrastructure enabling the next phase of AI growth. At the same time, AI itself is accelerating innovation across energy generation, optimisation, and deployment, creating a virtuous circle.
Delivered in partnership with London GreenCity, an accelerator focused on scaling commercially viable climate and energy technologies, this session will explore how founders, corporates, and investors can support this virtuous circle, where technology can solve the challenges posed by AI and harvest its power for deeper and more rapid development. Through a panel discussion featuring entrepreneurs and key stakeholders shaping the AI-energy transition — alongside an innovation showcase highlighting some of the UK’s most exciting climate-tech startups - the evening will discuss how climate tech is being repositioned as essential infrastructure for AI, what buyers and investors in the AI space are actually looking for today and how AI can accelerate the deployment of clean energy solutions.
