Munich Haus @SXSW: Connecting Hubs Oktoberfest-style
At Munich Haus @SXSW, we connect hubs and brew innovation - melting the start-up ecosystems of Munich and Austin into a big, cheerful crowd of founders, funders and ecosystem partners. Not only do we spark conversations on focus topics of both hubs like AI, security, dual use and deeptech - we also invite you to experience Bavarian culture with us. No SXSW badge required!
The Munich Haus Manifesto
What we don’t do today (even though we are German hosts):
Promote German angst and complaints (remember: what you tolerate is what you promote)
Give lectures and focus on reasons why something won’t work
Talk about what others should do (“man müsste mal”/”somebody should..”)
What we focus on instead:
What can we as participants do to actually move things forward
What connections can we initiate to kickstart change (our power is in the 2nd degree network)
Discussing with the goal of consensus, not wanting to be right
At 11:30 a.m., we start our main program @Munich Haus:
We introduce the Munich ecosystem and moderate conversations between ecosystem representatives including the Munich start-up delegation as well as Austin-based companies and organizations:

During and after the program, we are celebrating Bavarian culture with an authentic Oktoberfest-style happy hour in the garden including beer & pretzels (on us!), bratwurst and a brass band.
