About Event

What is Human Capital Quarterly?

The nature of work is changing fast. Presented by DC Public Library and Levy, the Human Capital Quarterly forum features workshops and talks led by local training programs, community-based upskilling initiatives, professional organizations, and industry leaders with real workforce insight. The goal is simple: bring together a wider range of contributors to the National Capital Region's workforce to share ideas and to lead practical, hands-on sessions.

Who it's for

If you're jobseeking, or simply someone who knows that work in this next decade is going to shift rapidly, join us for hands-on programming and conversations on April 14th. We'll have a special focus on climate and energy throughout the day, but the conversations will be relevant for anyone thinking about how to pivot their career, future-proof their skills, and navigate the uncertain future ahead of us all. We want people to come and engage with the range of opportunities and networks available to them for building skills, exploring careers, and making connections.

Live Build Workshop: Using AI to Get More People on Public Transit 3:30-4:30

What does it actually look like to build something useful with AI — from scratch, in front of a live audience? Civic Tech DC will lead this workshop where we work through a problem and how it was solved with AI step-by-step. EChO will join us to share about how she is working to make biking across DC safer through RideFlow and RideScore DC.

The goal is to demystify AI tooling for a non-technical audience and show what's possible when you start with a real problem.
