🌒 Designing Lunar Habitats (Middle School)
How can we use geometry to design a lunar habitat? Apply concepts such as angle properties to design lunar habitats.
🏛️ Cycles of Power (Middle School)
What can we learn from the rise and fall of empires throughout history? Let’s look back in time to learn from civilizations across time.
🌳 Restoring Ecosystems (Middle School)
How can we protect nature’s ecosystems? Let’s explore how we can ensure humans and other living beings co-exist meaningfully.
🐚 Nature as Art (Middle School)
How does nature inspire creativity? Use natural forms and patterns as inspiration to create art and celebrate environmental beauty.
🪐 Social Entrepreneurship (Foundational)
How can social entrepreneurship be used to address pressing societal issues and create positive change in communities, while also ensuring financial sustainability and scalability of the venture?
By leveraging market forces and innovative business models, learners have been exploring how social entrepreneurs create products and services that meet the needs of underserved communities, while also generating economic value.
📝 Food, Water & Energy Security (Foundational)
Is there enough food, water, and energy to sustain our planet if our population reaches 10 Billion? How are these three resources intricately linked and how can the world create resource security for all?
In this challenge, learners have been exploring how food, water & energy security are linked, the stresses and tensions between them, their interdependences, and aspects of distribution, access, and sustainable production.
🤖 Ethical Technology (Advanced)
How can we design and deploy technologies that empower humanity, while protecting our rights, dignity, and future?
We live in an age where technology is rapidly reshaping our world. From AI to quantum computing, biotechnology to social media, these innovations hold great promise but also carry profound ethical, social, and environmental risks. In this challenge, learners have been thinking critically and creatively about how we can ensure technology serves people, rather than the other way round.
🌱 Building Sustainable Futures (Advanced)
How can we create an exciting and sustainable future for humanity, that is aligned with the sustainable development goals and the flourishing of both people and the planet?
The world faces numerous interconnected challenges that threaten the wellbeing of both people and the planet. These challenges range from climate change and environmental degradation to social inequality and economic instability. This challenge invites learners to think creatively and develop solutions which align with the SDGs and promote the flourishing of humanity and the environment.
