About Event

📍 In-person, near Farringdon and Barbican

Matt Wilson has scaled companies twice, but under very different operating conditions.

From building Omnipresent to $1M ARR and exiting to Deel, to founding Jack & Jill and reaching 100,000+ users in under a year, his experience offers a clear view of how scaling has changed.

In this fireside chat, Matt will share how his approach to building teams, allocating headcount, and designing roles has evolved, from the first 10–50 critical decisions to running leaner organisations enabled by AI. We’ll unpack what this means for founders and senior leaders thinking about structure, execution, and growth as they scale today.

Who's speaking

Matt Wilson has done something almost unheard of in startup land: he's broken his own speed record.

In 2019, he became the fastest founder in Entrepreneur First's 4,000+ alumni to hit $1M ARR with Omnipresent, a global employment platform that scaled to 160+ countries and exited to Deel in 2025. Then he did it again with Jack & Jill. Even faster. In under 10 months, his AI recruiting platform backed by Creandum has already supported 100k+ users across top-tier startups in San Francisco and London.

Before building companies that scale, Matt founded an enterprise software business in pharma and spent time as both a software engineer and product manager. He holds a Master's in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from Oxford and was named Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2019. Now he's applying that rigor to one of tech's hardest challenges: matching great people with great opportunities.

(Moderator) Perdie Alder is VC/Startup Partnerships Manager at Zendesk for Startups. With over 10 years experience in the startup ecosystem, supporting thousands of founders and investors across multiple roles, Perdie has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by fast growing startups, and the investors who fund them.

Jack & Jill
Jack & JIll is fixing the most broken part of hiring: the actual matching process. Traditional job boards created noise. AI made it worse with spam applications and keyword filters. So Matt Wilson and Saaras Mehan rebuilt recruitment from first principles 2025, using conversational AI that understands nuance at scale. Their mission is simple: get every person into their perfect job and every company the right people.

The company built two AI agents that work like world-class recruiters, but at scale. Jack talks to professionals about their careers and ambitions. Jill works with hiring managers to understand what roles need. Then they make introductions. In just 10 months, Jack has had conversations with 100,000+ professionals and Jill is working with 2,000+ companies across London and San Francisco. Customers report faster time-to-hire, better candidate quality, and 50% savings versus traditional recruiters. The company raised a $20M seed led by Creandum to take the platform global.
