Discussion with architect Kjell Anderson, an expert in energy, embodied carbon, salvage and reuse, and biogenic carbon within building materials.
He will share how the design and procurement process works within architecture and construction, and how emerging and advanced material technologies are being tested and deployed.
This includes low-carbon versions of innovative concrete products, mass timber structure, salvaged structure, and materials based on biogenic materials including agricultural waste and bamboo. He has worked with universities and manufacturers to help them understand processes of how materials can go from lab to widespread deployment. He can also cover any other architectural and urban topics that you are interested in.
Kjell is the author of the Path to Zero Carbon series, exploring comprehensively how the built environment and materials can transition to carbon neutrality, starting with defining the problem.
