The Memo: A Screening & Talkback with Valeisha Butterfield on Black Women's Workplace Experiences
This Women's History Month, our normally exclusive Baddie+ Membership meeting is open to the public! Join us for a powerful virtual screening and talkback with Valeisha Butterfield on The Memo, a short film starring Kyla Pratt, based on the bestselling book by Minda Harts.
Inspired by her lived experience navigating the highs and lows of corporate America as a Black woman, the book quickly became a catalyst for conversations around workplace equity and culture. It was later adapted into a psychological thriller short film by SEED Media, founded by Valeisha Butterfield, a multimedia company committed to funding and producing iconic, untold stories that shape culture and inspire global impact.
Award-winning actress Kyla Pratt stars in this film and showcases the reality of many women of color’s experiences at work. This virtual gathering is a time to unwind, feel seen, and real-talk about the complexities of navigating workplace culture as a Black Woman or woman of color.
