Peer-to-Peer Financial Systems Workshop (P2PFISY)
Shaping the Future of Financial Systems
The Peer-to-Peer Financial Systems Workshop (P2PFISY) is the premier annual gathering where central bankers, regulators, academics, and innovators come together to advance the global conversation on digital and decentralised finance.
For the first time in its twelve-year history, P2PFISY crosses into Central Asia.
The 12th edition takes place on 9–10 June 2026 in Astana, Kazakhstan, hosted by the National Bank of Kazakhstan — the institution behind the Digital Tenge, one of the world's most advanced live CBDC programmes.
Kazakhstan runs a regulated crypto market that grew twenty-fold in two years, hosts Central Asia's first regulated Bitcoin ETF, and has positioned Astana as the region's boldest financial innovation hub. This is not a country preparing for the future of digital finance. It is building it.
What to expect:
Keynotes from central bank governors and senior policymakers
Academic paper sessions selected through a rigorous open call
Policy panels on regulation, payments, AI, and digital infrastructure
Fireside conversations with practitioners shaping the next generation of financial systems
Direct dialogue between researchers, regulators, and industry leaders from over 40 countries
Topics covered: Regulation & Compliance · Fraud & Financial Crime · CBDCs · Stablecoins & Digital Payments · AI in Financial Systems · Consumer Protection & Data Governance · Tokenisation of Real-World Assets
