Western's annual passion project showcase. A night dedicated entirely to celebrating the act of creation.
Alchemy is the culmination of months of work at Momentum's Sunday co-working sessions, where students show up every week to build, get feedback, and push their projects forward. Come see what happens when makers come create together.

The Format
LIVE DEMOS. Students take the stage to present projects they've spent months refining in a TED-talk-meets-science-fair format.
PROJECT SHOWCASE. Booth demos where you can see projects up close. Talk to the makers, ask questions, and see how things work live.
VIBES! This is a celebration of creation, not a competition. Get ready to see half-finished prototypes, weird experiments, and side projects that have been too underground to share until now.
Last year's Alchemy featured: Real holograms, Ontario's first policy hackathon, CPUs built from scratch, experimental visual art installations, accountability software for passion projects, psychological models of the self, and more.
Expect to see everything from: hardware projects, poetry collections, startups, trained AI models, visual art, obscure research, and more.
What is Momentum?
Momentum is western’s largest co-working community, bringing together over 200 builders, creatives, technologists, budding founders, and more to work on their passion projects. Our goal is to foster a space that provides youth with the permission, accountability, and community to dedicate themselves to work they care about. 💚💛🩷
