Scarcity, Thirdspace Thirdweeks
Scarcity
In partnership with Tokyo Salone, semi permanent, and teenage engineering, we are co-curating Thirdspace Thirdweeks as a year-round series of intimate gatherings at Soho House Tokyo. Designed for our community, these sessions bring together global cultural practitioners across art, design, technology, gastronomy, and music in conversation. As part of the wider Tokyo Salone platform, they contribute to a growing cultural infrastructure in Japan, shaped through dialogue, exchange, and shared perspective.
A limited number of seats are reserved, only 5 for our global Semi Permanent community, offering access into these otherwise member-only gatherings, along with the opportunity to experience Soho House following the session.
For this special edition, we gather in a smaller, hands-on format with Kenta Kondo, formerly of IDEO. Limited to 30 participants, this is a working session, facilitated, experimental, and collaborative. Together we explore, question, and build in real time, where intuition meets method, and the room itself becomes part of the process.
Doors Open, June 17 at 18:30
Start time 19:00–20:30 (includes AMA)
Conversation will be in English

In Conversation With
Kenta Kondo designs for existence. A mechanical engineer by training, designer in practice, and social critic at heart, he works at the intersection of systems, making, and lived experience. Formerly of IDEO, he now lives in an experimental eco-village outside Tokyo, dividing his time between design and rice farming. His work explores alternative ways of being, using hands-on prototyping as a form of inquiry, and at times, a quiet act of revolt.
Kenta lives off the grid, working at a distance from systems, but can be found here.
